I placed the bottle of ice tea on my desk, next to the keyboard and it promptly spilled. Splashed on the keyboard and splattered to the floor. I scrambled to save the keyboard. Yanked it from the tower as fast as I could. Moral of the story. Don’t feed at the computer.
Well actually it wasn’t that bad. Only the keyboard got wet because I acted real quick. There’s no real damage, though some keys still needs to be aired out. I put it at the back of my beast machine and started mining monero. The heat that’s coming out now will definitely do the trick. It will be dried as new in no time. It’s crazy though how we mess up just to be comfortable. Eating while using the machine is a sweet spot. Mind and body feeding at the same time. But computers and liquids don’t mix. We put liquids much too close to our devices. We seem oblivious to the potential for thousands of dollars of loss due to our carelessness. And for me I should have been a lot more careful. I got this tech curse on me right now. I need to pay a lot more attention in my machine room.
Will I stop feeding at the computer? That remains to be seen. I spend most of my time at the keyboard. Am never really far away from the machines. But I will try my best to separate feeding and tech time. Actually two different things when you really think about it.
Good luck with that. Now that you made think about it, I haven't spilled coffee or juice on my keyboard for a while now :o. It actually seems kind of weird.
Thanks. I got more keyboards so am cool. Weird for you that you been fortunate not to spill haha.
