Apple killing the headphone jack and wants everyone to follow it into proprietary greed. To listen to your music you now need special hardware. Imagine that where we once listened to our favorite songs as easy as drinking water now we need a special straw. And they will control the stream to squeeze it dry of any emotion. You make it hard to listen to music what does that say about this company. Music is a heart thing organic even. You never ever mess with the music. It is apostasy. Blasphemous.
I remember couple years ago helping this dude with his ipod. He just wanted to access his songs on it. We had to jump through crazy hoops to make that happen. I couldn't believe people would do that to themselves. The music was right in front of us but we couldn't get at it without going through Apple. Had to literally call them to get some code or something. Apparently he was okay with that. It was a silly prestige status thing having nothing to do with music. No way am letting a company hold my music hostage. It's incredulous.
But other companies will follow. The business behemoths just rolling on stacking profits. They will join Apple in breaking the music. All about greed disguised as technological progress.
with bluetooth headsets so cheap, the headphone jack is just an environmental contamination port.
really? that's how you see it? wow. am talking about locking out people from their music. you talking about environment. wow
Agree.
A year ago I bought bluetooth headsets and became happy.
But it was difficult to find good headsets.
Reading up on it a bit the headphone jack is literally the biggest component inside the phone. It is what is preventing phones from getting thinner/lighter, not to mention batteries getting larger.
Yes they will make money off selling adapters but it also paves the way for thinner, lighter phones with the possibility of a larger battery. The headphone jack has remained basically unchanged since its inception like 50 years ago, I don't have a problem with it finally being upgraded.
Hmm no way to make the jack smaller? If that's the reason to get rid of it then well ya go for it.
