My kids love Minecraft. If you have never heard of it, here is what Wikipedia has to say “Minecraft is a sandbox video game created and designed by Swedish game designer Markus “Notch” Persson, and later fully developed and published by Mojang. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft allow players to build with a variety of different cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the game include exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and combat.”
Think of it as building Lego sets but as a computer/game world. You can explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. You can play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs.
The kids play on their tablet even though a Windows 10 version is available. They prefer the tablet version. There are all kinds of add-ons and worlds that they can play in a build. If you are old school and remember The Sims Video game then you will have an idea of what Minecraft is. It is the The Sims Video game of our kids’ generation.
