The struggle for primacy in the VR field is going on in the best - virtually every of the corporations present on the virtual reality market is preparing new equipment to help get even better experiences connected with playing with the use of special goggles. HTC is also taking the offensive, which has just announced the introduction of the latest equipment of the company, the Vive Pro headset, to pre-order. The latest goggles from the Taiwanese company can now be purchased on the official website of Vive.com at a price of 879 euros. This is by far the most expensive equipment of its type available on the market, but - just like the basic version, or HTC Vive - it has to offer the greatest opportunities compared to other VR-dedicated designs. Inside there are two AMOLED screens with a diagonal of 3.5 inches, which offer definitely higher resolution than the previous goggles from this manufacturer - it's 2880 x 1600 pixels (HTC Vive - 2160 x 1200). Also new will be the integrated surround sound system with the Hi-Res certificate.
The makers of googles were also able to properly redesign the individual elements of the construction of the equipment, so that the use of it would be associated with a lower head load. To this end, the construction of the rear cushions and the nose pad has been changed, making the use of the HTC Vive Pro more convenient. Interestingly, the values of two parameters have not changed - the field of view is still 110 degrees, while the refresh rate is 90 Hz. The manufacturer took care of the right set of ports - the user will use USB type C and DisplayPort version 1.2, and the goggles are equipped with basic elements such as accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, Bluetooth connectivity and SteamVR module. An interesting fact is the presence of Chaperone technology, thanks to which every goggle user can view the appearance of the nearest surroundings without removing the equipment from his head.
Regular sale of HTC Vive Pro will start on April 5 - if you decide to buy this device in advance, you will receive an additional six-month subscription Viveport, in which each customer can choose monthly five games from the library of four hundred available titles. It is worth mentioning that the price of 879 euro does not include the accessories necessary to use the headset, or controllers and a dedicated base station. Good information for HTC Vive owners is that the controllers and the base station will be compatible with the upcoming generation of this equipment. HTC Vive Pro will also offer the possibility of fully wireless use of the equipment - using this option will, however, require the purchase of an additional adapter, the price of which is not yet known. On the occasion of the HTC decided to make the basic version of Vive goggles more accessible to the ordinary mortal, slightly lowering the price of goggles from 699 to 599 euros. This is not a big sell-off, but people planning to buy this equipment can certainly treat this Taiwanese decision as an additional incentive. The company tempts with bonuses - it's two months of free Viveport subscription and the code for the Fallout 4 VR game.
