Fellow Engineers and likes minds, let's reason this out. It is no longer news that there is an emergence of green and eco-friendly technologies across top nations in the globe. Efforts of the big players across Europe, America and Asia all all skewed towards Green-tech, considering the huge damage hydrocarbons have done to the environment.
The Electric Car is one of the latest emerging technologies aimed at relegating the usefulness of hydrocarbon fuels, on which Nigeria heavily depend on. Now my concern is, if global attention completely switches to Electric and other renewable energy sources by 2030 as being proposed, what does the future hold for our dear country Nigeria?....Make no mistake, the white man is good at what he does, there is serious ongoing master plans and actions to floor thevalue of crude oil, and am optimistic they will achieve it in time...it is not our Vision 2020!The bitter prospect of crude oil falling below $5/barrel is glaringly starring at our faces and our corrupt leaders are in Abuja sharing our common fortune.
The way forward is simple....To key into the emergence of these technologies and become the hub of green technology in Africa. Unfortunately, we do not have the right leadership to move in this direction.
I PITY NIGERIA......!!!
We have discussed this issues at length black gold will still be relevant... In the world at large! The only mistake of the proponent of electric cars to the detriment of fuel is that cars will still runs on fuel in third world countries and their are also other useful components of crude oil that cannot be substituted in our everyday life worldwide.
