The automotive industry are one of the world's largest heavy industries, and the most expensive in terms of their operating economies. However, the near future may bring significant positive changes to the giant industry, with new horizons opened up by three-dimensional printing technologies.

After computer-aided 3D printing has expanded in many areas, many companies have expanded to use these new technologies to make some of the larger traditional industries more efficient, more accurate, and perhaps less expensive than they were. Among these companies is a company named Divergent 3D, which has made presentations on the use of three-dimensional printing in the production of parts and parts of cars through three-dimensional giant printers using lightweight metal materials such as aluminum or carbon fiber.

In theory, according to the company, the giant factories that car companies currently rely on in the production of automotive components can be replaced by a factory containing 16 giant three-dimensional printers, at an estimated cost of one million dollars per printer, and the factory can have those printers production capacity of 10 thousand Car annually.
But most importantly, it not only reduces costs or standardizes car production in one place, but above all, the enormous flexibility offered by these printers, which works very differently from the current production of metal parts of cars.

Big car companies are already taking advantage of the flexibility offered by 3D printers, predicting a new era for the automotive industry. Proche began using three-dimensional printers to produce spare parts for its old classic cars, and it is no longer feasible to produce large quantities of spare parts in the company's traditional factories because it is economically and practically useless. Porsche has already succeeded in producing 8 spare parts that were not previously available and plans to expand the re-offering of another 20 pieces with the same technology.

These attempts may still be relatively isolated, but the future will undoubtedly greatly expand the use of 3D printing in the automotive component industry because of the tremendous benefits and advantages of this huge and expensive industry.
