You have already read my previous article about adventures with my phone. ( https://steemit.com/life/@ingus42/when-the-phone-is-left-at-1-or-dependence-on-modern-technology ) I would love to keep up the story of my Samsung Galaxy S8. This morning my phone is completely dead. I quite well remember that from yesterday's fun part, my phone was almost full battery. Viesturs, being the cleanest Apple man, could not help me with the charger. Unwittingly again I have to return to this painful question - why lately my phone so quickly discharged? Previously, I could call myself the biggest fan of Samsung. It all began when, after consulting with many experts, I bought the first Samsung smartphone - the Galaxy S2, not the Iphone I really wanted. I still have S4, S5, S6 edge, S7 edge and now S8. As time goes by, I have a Samsung TV, home theater, tablet, computer, Samsung powerbot (similar to Irobot) and even a washing machine. Friends would even be kidding if Samsung would manufacture cars, then I would have it. :)
However, Samsung has recently been seriously testing my patience and loyalty. And without these ailments my phone has encountered another problem. Quite often, the camera phone can not focus on the image. The forums read that I'm not alone and quite a few have such problems with the S8 camera. If the image is not an focused, then the best picture taking function of the phone is not applicable. After the recent update, this problem seems to have disappeared, but has returned in recent days. Speaking of update ... I still remember very well one of the previous models, when after the first update the phone battery, which until then was able to take out almost two days, then was able to take out only half a day. I also had problems with S7edge when the phone changed all the main motherboard during the warranty period. To be fair, I was already ready to swap my S8 against the Iphone X. However, it was good that at that moment no one iphone left in store. When I read feedback and specialist reviews, I realized that the iPhone X has even more problems and niches. Is it really too much to ask, upon payment of EUR 1000 per phone, so that it reliably serve at least 2 years? It is doubtful whether this is the inability of engineers, but rather a deliberate marketing move that all the old phones, new model coming out, begins to slow down and "interfere live". This has long been confirmed by several of my friends who use the iPhone. But just recently, all of the media have overcome the sensational confessions of Apple that they are really with the old models update reduces processor power. I would call it a marketing trick. The company earns the most when you buy their latest phone. It is possible for some to use popular brands for the latest models required by social status. But is unlikely to be adequate to the whole world should run to the store after the new model. All sales teaches that the key to selling a product to a potential customer is to create the need for it. At a time when your favorite phone starts to surprise with many unpleasant little things and crap, you buy a new, beautiful and improved model.
Another huge business direction for companies is the sale of accessories. Everyone has noticed that the original chargers, covers and other things are even twice as expensive as analogue products. I know a girlfriend who bought a regular selfie for her trip. During the trip, the update came out after which the shutter button no longer worked. How fair is it? Why can not I buy analogue accessories when the original ones cost so much inappropriately?
I am currently disappointed with Samsung phones. I think I'm not alone. Of course, this is a business. But people are not foolish, after a while, the love for these brands will plummet and at that moment a new manufacturer will appear that will better take care of its customers and conquer the market. This is also a business. I think Samsumg and Apple are currently playing a dangerous game, and it's time to change!
I can agree with you. Since my Samsung updated, my battery now runs down twice as fast. The J7 (2018) was an awesome miser on the battery and fast with its 8 cores, but then came the update last week. I'm lucky if I can get a day out of it now.
