The it covers a 3 ft x 3 ft area, 9 square feet, so it would depend how long the plants are in vegetation stage for, how large they are full grown. The draw back with LED lights is that there is only about 2 feet of light penetration, so you might run into issues with a full grown plant that is more than 2 feet tall. I have mine hung on a horizontal wire so i can slide it from side to side once in a while to more thoroughly light cover the table. The light was cheap too, $40.
