Hello, @samminator. I'm a great ignorant in computer technology, and more in a matter as complicated as Artificial Intelligence. I move in the literary and artistic field in general. In novels and films, the question of whether machines could develop something like emotions (or what psychologists call "affective memory") has been addressed -directly or tangentially. In this respect two references, the film 2001: an odyssey of space by Stanley Kubrick (based on the novel of the same name by Arthur Clark), where the computer HAL2000 (if I remember correctly), when it is going to be turned off by the surviving astronaut, asks it not to do so. Also, the romance suggested by the replicator of Blade Runner. But as they say, it's "pure fantasy".
Thank you for your informative post. Greetings.
