Energy saving products and tips for your bussines and home

Currently, electricity costs represent a high percentage of a company's operating costs. The energy is necessary to be able to develop the great majority of the works in the companies and the cost is always going up. That is why we must consume energy efficiently to increase our profits, improve operational efficiency and, in turn, generate a positive impact on the environment.

I want to show you some ways to save energy.

Lighting

In lighting, there are plenty of things we can do to reduce our consumption.
The solution that will generate the greatest impact, is to migrate to high efficiency technologies.

We must replace the sodium, mercury, metal halide, even CFLs luminaires, for high efficiency technologies such as LED

We can achieve savings in consumption up to 90% and up to 100% in maintenance costs during the life of the luminaires.

Other more economical solutions also generate significant savings and are much easier to purchase and install. We can install motion sensors for the luminaires, daylight harvesting systems and transparent tiles when possible to take advantage of sunlight.

A/C

Air conditioning, represents a fairly high percentage of energy consumption.

Doing something as simple as raising a grade on the thermostat, generates significant savings at the end of the month

In case you are thinking of purchasing a new equipment, the recommendation is an equipment with inverter technology or an equipment with solar technology.

Inverter units have a variable speed drive in the motor, which translates into a significant saving in consumption. The engine only works at the required speed.

The solar units integrate a solar collector, that captures the hea from the sun t and increases the pressure of the refrigerant gas. This reduces the consumption of electric energy by up to 60% compared to conventional equipment.

For systems that are already installed and do not have any of these technologies, there are devices that can be installed in old equipments and generate savings of up to 15%. Here is an example of a rather interesting product.

Electric Motors

Electric motors also have a strong impact on energy consumption. In this field it is more difficult to generate savings but there are also several things we can do.

The solution of greater impact, is to acquire a motor of high efficiency but this is not always possible.

One solution could be the installation of capacitor banks to correct the power factor. By correcting our power factor, we will reduce the consumption in kw / h of our engine. It is also recommended to install some type of starter in the motor. This will help reduce the starting spike.

Another solution that I find interesting, is a product called iMec. This equipment controls the power consumed by the engine and generates important savings.

Cold Rooms

The cold rooms are indispensable in several businesses and can consume a great percentage of the total energy.

One of my favorite solutions is a product called endocube. This device is installed on the spur sensor and help improve the cycles of operation of the device. savings of up to 30% may be possible. More information here:

Renewable Energy

These solutions are a little more expensive but they are the most friendly with the environment and can achieve a savings of up to 100% in the consumption of electric energy.

The most well-known solution is the solar panels. There are also wind generation technologies or even biomass.

By applying all these technologies we can achieve savings of up to 50% on the total electric bill. Obviously depending on the current consumption and the investment made.

We will see a very interesting economic saving and in turn we are contributing to the environment.

Consuming energy efficiently is everyone's responsibility.

Do you know of any other product or do you have any advice to generate savings?
