Interesting article, but it is not possible that this lazer produces the same energy as that receives the earth from the sun in 12 minutes. 1,000 TW is a huge power, but it can only be sustained for a fraction of a second. It does not take as much energy as the energy received by the sun in a second or even a milisecond...
