This problem can be fixed, without 19th century socialism and draconian taxes. First, people should strip down patents, copyright and other IPR to a bare minimum and that will unleash a boom in creativity and prosperity beyond imagination when everyone can copy and reuse the work of the smartest people on the planet. @adsactly, thanks for your thoughtful post.

There's more to it than that.
Even if this idea was to become a reality, humanity will eventually be filtered into the haves and have nots.
Yeah, that's true @jacksondavies, but then again the haves and nots are simply not a solution at all. We literally need many competing smaller firms, which will increase consumer choice and drive down executive salaries thus reducing societal inequality.
This is sound thinking. I commend the solutions put forward!
