Wifi security bug that running through wifi and stealing info
The bug is called the KRACK, or Key Reinstallation Attack and breaks WPA2 by forcing it to reuse keys used for encrypting the connection.By spamming a network with authentication requests, a hacker could look at all the responses and draw a conclusion about the content of the keys, thereby breaking its protections.
This technique could be used to obtain credit card information, passwords, photos, emails and other personal information.
And no, changing the WiFi password would have no effect, as it’s not needed.
The research found the technique was especially effective against devices running Android 6.0 and higher, accounting for half of all Android phones on the market.
