CES 2017 will always be remembered as the show where we met our future robot overlords -- and were foolishly disarmed by how darn cute they were.Even when, back in December, we predicted the robots were coming, we didn't realize quite how many bots we would encounter. The droids are truly out in force and injected a real sense of fun and excitement into this year's show. Read full article

Yes... The Jetsons cartoon is what i think of when i read the article. The introduction of home assisting robots just gave me this feeling that we are truly entering the era of the Jetsons. Having an autonomous robot with AI of the Jetsons' robot assistant Rosie the robot maid is not here yet but not too far away.
Kuri
There are a few robots that intrigued me from the article one of them is KURI! A R2D2 or BB-8 look alike home assistant companion. Kuri has inbuilt camera's, speaker, sensors, microphones etc.... Kuri can monitor your home when you are not around, let you use voice command to control your smart home systems, plays and monitor your kids, follows you around and you can control it with your iphone / android phone. If you like a R2D2 / BB-8 home assistant you may just be able to get it at a price of about $700 USD.

Moro Robot
This is the closest to a human assistant robot for me personally. The Moro robot is made by Ewaybot a Chinese robot company. This robot has motion and object sensors which can allow you to command it/him/her to go to the shop and buy stuff or serve you dinner and etc.. The price tag is about $30,000 USD not cheap eh?

ITRI intelligent vision robot
This robot was not featured in the article at Cnet but was featured in CES 2017. The robot is made by a Taiwan company called Industrial Technology Research Institute ( ITRI ). This robot to me is the most fascinating as it has machine learning which means it can learn to do it's tasks better and to learn new tasks. The robot display it's ability by playing chess but it is just a hobby. The robot can entertain you by playing chess with you, pour a coffee for you and set a table for your dinner. This robot is also made for manufacturing in mind. The possibilities for this robot seems to be endless.
