Country’s maiden women job site opens today

The2HourJob.com, country’s first women-job site will be launched on Monday, creating an opportunity for women to find suitable jobs they can do staying at homes.

‘The2HourJob.com is a work-from-home solution for women and will act as a hub to make a bridge between skilled female professionals and individuals and businesses of different genres. The website will be formally launched today by state minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak,’ said Sanjida Khandoker, founder of the platform.

‘I saw many girls in my relations to desert their dreams of getting established and financially empowered by completing their studies, after getting married. They somehow become frustrated and from my own experience and the experiences of my close ones, I thought about finding a balanced option,’ Sanjida said, explaining the background of developing the website.

The Business Administration student of Khulna University said the website is first-of-its-kind initiative in Bangladesh that will empower women through this platform as women will be able to work staying at homes and make use of their professional expertise and talent in diverse sectors.

This website will give a woman a platform to pursue whatever she is good at so that she can earn her livelihood, she added.

Sanjida said the service category for women in her website includes - professional writing, business support, programming and technology, design and graphics, digital marketing, audio support, lifestyle, entertainment, research and analytics.

‘A girl good in legal writing, business copywriting, proofreading and editing, drafting press releases can easily get the job of professional writing. Girls also can bag job of virtual assistant, market research, branding service and legal consulting in business support category. Likewise, they can get jobs in many sectors as per categories,’ Sanjida added.

Sanjida said the target clients of her website includes multinational corporations, marketing and HR professionals working at banks, corporate houses, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), marketing and research agencies, startups, technology-based companies, interior designers, architect firms, real estate developers, production houses, restaurant and food joint owners, boutique owners, consultancy firms, corporate event management firms, musicians and NGO’s.

‘We have already partnered with entities like LICT Project of the ICT Division, Bangladesh IP Forum, Ogilvy and Mather Bangladesh, and wish to partner with other relevant bodies and organization in coming days,’ she said.
