Each person for sure at least once in his life wanted to give up everything, radically change the situation, move to another city. But most often such desires remain unfulfilled: too much keeps us in our home. The creators of the hOMe project solved this problem and found a way to travel without leaving their home.
HOMe is a project of engineer Andrew Morrison, which aims to popularize the idea of building small mobile homes. Andrew, a builder with more than 20 years of experience, spent his whole life building houses of the "American Dream", that is, spacious comfortable cottages with all amenities. However, over time, he was increasingly visited by the idea of the redundancy, cost and inconvenience of living in such homes. The decisive moment was the crisis of 2008, when thousands of families were on the street, being unable to pay loans for homes and settle accounts.

The house created within the framework of the project hOMe is a miniature residential block that contains everything necessary for a comfortable life. The most interesting thing is that the house is mounted on a mobile chassis, so that at any time its owners can move to a new location. Below you will find some photos that will give an idea of its internal structure and appearance.
Particular attention in the design of the house was given to its autonomy. Electricity comes from a solar system with a capacity of 1 600 W, which charges high-quality batteries. They are used on cloudy days when the sun is hidden by clouds. This energy is enough to ensure the operation of the refrigerator, three laptops, LED-TV and lighting on LED bulbs. In addition, the exhaust ventilation operates periodically and a food processor is used. Two big gas cylinders are used for cooking and heating water, which is enough for 6-8 months.
Someone may think that this project is not much different from well-known tourist trailers. However, this is not at all the case. Trailer - it's still a temporary haven for travel. Here, the main emphasis is on a comfortable permanent residence with the possibility of changing the location of the location. In addition, the maintenance of such a dwelling is very cheap, since it does not require connection to communications, rent charges and so on. Such an approach has already won a whole army of supporters who communicate, share experience, help in the construction and even wander together around the country. To see the location of "small houses" and get to know their residents, you can use this interactive map.
Would you agree to live in such a house? What, in your opinion, are the advantages and disadvantages of this housing project?

Wow, this is so amazing! Thank you for sharing it. I think it might be a little bit to small for more than two people in everyday life. But as a cottage it could be really cool. 😎
