Well without much competition from AMD, and all the current graphics cards able to play the current games pretty well, they really don't need to release anything new.
Or if they are going to release something new, as I've said before a) they're trying to get rid of dyes that were produced and putting it in mid-range and lower-end cards that might sell easily to those on a budget.

That makes perfect sense. I mean my old 1060 still plays things like Resident Evil 7, just not as well as the 1070.
