Apple hosted a conference without any hardware products. Unless you think Apple cards are also hardware.
However, I think this is the best and most exciting Apple conference in five years.
"Service Save Apple" is a common angle in media reports. Slightly add a point of view, the "service" revenue in Apple's earnings has indeed grown very fast in recent years, but I believe that most of Apple's revenue from services actually comes from the App Store, because this part of the revenue is still attached to the iPhone. In terms of sales, in essence, Apple is not creating value here, but harvesting value.
In China, people are responsible for a 30% share of the “Apple tax”.
The press conference on Monday was a superb release, and even if all the content services to be released had been leaked in advance, there was nothing left. why? Because the content itself is the experience.
I think it is much harder to make a press conference for content and service than for a hardware product. But Apple is very simple, let the content be the protagonist, let super-class content creators come to the stage to tell their own stories, use content to touch people.
I can understand that different people have different interests. I am more interested in software and human-computer interaction than hardware. I have been impressed by the Apple conference in recent years. In addition to the 2007 iPhone, it is the 2010 iPad. iCloud in 2011, iOS 7 in 2013, and Apple Watch in 2014 are all products that bring a new interactive model.
But I also know that many people have seen the same conference, but they have very different feelings. There are many people who are only interested in hardware products, and can't appreciate and feel the beauty of the content. It is uninteresting and understandable for a press conference without a new "product" release.
