4 Technologies of the Now Age that Past Artists Predict

Imagining or predicting the future can make people excited, because in general, humans are creatures who are interested in the things that smell the future.

For example, predictions about life in the coming years or the picture of technology used at the time.

some old predictions about the future, from the 1800s or early 1900s, you will realize that these estimates are ridiculous and far from reality.

However, it is undeniable that things are creative, and innovative. A number of illustrators and futurists have even managed to prove objects that are very close to what happened in the 2000s, such as electronic goods depicted in their work.

Here are 4 illustrations of the past that really exist in the future:

1. 3D Glasses

objects that are very familiar today, with the emergence of virtual reality devices such as oculus rift, or 3D technology. This sophisticated eyewear image was made in 1963 for Life magazine.
In the magazine, the famous science fiction writer, Hugo Gernsback (considered the father of science fiction by some), draws a tool mentioned in one of his stories.

Hugo named the device "TV glasses". The idea comes from his wild imagination imagining: one day, one can watch television from close range, so that he can interact with the screen.

2. Vacuum Cleaner

In 1910, Jean-Marc Côté and his illustrator team decided to create a set of illustrations called "En L'An 2000" (in 2000). All the illustrations in the collection look funny because people in that era did not know what objects they were painting.
But there is one item that really appears today, namely electric scrubbing or electronic vacuum cleaner.
At the beginning of this century, with the development of robotics technology, the company began producing robots capable of cleaning homes without human labor.

3. Digital Classroom

This illustration was made in 1969 by Shigeru Komatsuzaki, for a Japanese magazine
Computopia.
The illustrations are titled "The Rise of the Computerized School", which illustrates the artist's imagination of the future class.
You can see that the teacher appears in a transparent screen and each student has his or her own computer.

All schoolwork is done through the on-screen input. "Digital Teacher" checks student progress automatically. In addition, notice how the robot punishes students who do not obey the rules.
In today's world, many countries are using computer use in the classroom, for teaching and learning activities, whether it is laptop or PC (personal computer).

4. Video Call

This technology is predicted by many writers, futurists, and illustrators in the past: video calls.
Illustrations about video calls were made in 1920. The similarity of images with smart phones or smartphones at this time is very accurate.
Two women are sitting in a cafe, enjoying the atmosphere around while chatting with their friends on Skype.
