Why I switched to an iPhone.

For many years I was highly against any Apple products

I was a die-hard Android user and could not be budged from my stance on anything Apple related. I work in a datacenter and almost nobody has an iPhone. My preference to Linux over Unix, also made me definitely stay away, from knowing how Linux was born. I had been saying for years and years touting that they were purposefully deprecating old devices in order to force you to upgrade to the next one. While the previous statement has come to light, with the whole battery replacement ordeal, one thing stood out. I previously posted about the SkyGoFree exploit that gives the attacker full root access to your phone, to the point where they can control anything on it. I started digging more and more into Android exploits and started to find it to be daunting.

Let's be honest, how many of us are utilizing our phones to manage our Cryptocurrency, post on Steemit, and even bank?

While the iOS platform may have flaws of it's own, it generally even feels much more secure than my previous Androids did. This does not at all make me a fan still at this point, but, I'm pretty happy with the switch. The mere fact that a lot of third party apps are allowed onto the Google Play Store, without many checks or balances is absurd. Whereas, there is some pretty strict rules as to what is allowed on Apple's App Store. The potential for people to be utilizing exploits in Android apps is pretty high. Now, don't take this the wrong way, I do know that not even Apple is immune from exploits. In conclusion, I just feel a little bit safer on this platform and this still doesn't excuse Apple from deprecating older devices.

Just my 2 cents :D

just don't use your phone as the root of your security. While I agree that iOS over Android seems a (very) good decision, I wouldn't put my cryptowallets in there, at lest not one with a decent amount of cash in it.

Vote for witness @cryptohazard

but I dont want to switch! I think the pricing for these phones is absured.
but in the near future when more in depth with all this cryptocurrency and making large profit, I will most likely be following in your foot steps.... cause I trust your judgement entirely.... and Im starting to realize... Ill have to go back to my old roots of using apple products anyhow.... its way better with Photoshop and editing. and then with the phones storage and the camera is nice.... been having serious problems with getting good photos... and other stuff on my phone.
