In the laboratory in Copenhagen, scientists believe they are on the verge of a major discovery that can transform computers.
The team of researchers from Microsoft and the Niels Bohr Institute are convinced they have found the key to creating a quantum computer.

If it turns out they are right, Microsoft will be at the top, as it will have the power to solve problems that can not be done by conventional computers, reports KP.

The lab consists of a series of white cylinders, which have been cooled to almost zero absolute in accordance with the cubit creation process, the quantum computer building block.

"This cooling from the depths of the cosmos can be the coolest place in the universe," says Professor Charley Markus.

Quantum computers can help combat climate change but also fast learning.

"We can solve problems that supercomputers will compete in parallel and resolve them within seconds, hours, or days," concludes Markus.
