This Chinese woman in her 80s lives alone in an old fashioned cave dwelling in rural Shaanxi Province. She gets used to her cave home which is cool in summer and warm in winter and she enjoys the companionship of her old neighbours in the village. However, she sees and talks to her son working in a city thousands kilometres away on daily bases. 
The new communication technology allows her son to install a surveillance camera in his aging mother's home to monitor her situation. Whenever she has a problem, he would call his brother and sister nearby for help.
