Thanks to the S8, Samsung Beat Apple and Lead the Smartphone Market

Sales of Samsung Galaxy S8 success and soar high in the market successfully make Samsung re-enthroned as the king of the world smartphone market.

The achievement also makes Samsung beat Apple before being at the top.

Thanks to the Galaxy S8, Samsung re-emerged and able to ship 80 million phones in the first quarter of this year as quoted by Anzhuo.

It was based on data from research institute Risingsun based in China. Risingsun revealed global smartphone shipments reached 351 million in the first quarter of this year. Meanwhile, smartphone shipments reached 333 million in the same quarter last year.

Under Samsung, there is Apple that shipped the iPhone as many as 51 million units worldwide. After that, China's smartphone manufacturers dominate global smartphone sales.

Huawei is in third position with shipment of 35 million mobile phones, following the sale of Mate 9, P9 and V9. Oppo and Vivo respectively occupy the fourth and fifth positions, each shipping 26 million and 19 million units of mobile phones to the market.
