The world around us is changing so rapidly that it's getting difficult to keep up with it. Like we spent most of our life going to school and colleges, but after completing our formal education most of us felt confused. Therefore, it is our responsibility to self-educate ourselves and learn about different topics that could shape our future.
Here are some the technologies that I think will tremendously affect our future-
(1) Artificial Intelligence:
This term sounds pretty sci-fi in itself. But what is it exactly? The exact definition of it is "The science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs”. Nowadays, we all use different machines that require us to instruct it what to do by feeding different inputs and programing it a certain way. But what happens if machines start making their own decisions and altering their set program? Yes, they get closer to working as human brain. We are already seeing implementation of AI on Bots. Big internet companies are investing heavily into this technology and it will certainly reap them huge dividends. If that's good for us or not is a debatable subject.
2) Blockchain Technology:
We steemians are very much aware about the potential of blockchain technology. The whole world is very much optimistic about the blockchain technology. Have you seen the current Bitcoin prices? CRAZY! This technology will affect every industry in the future including Finance, Law, Insurance, Advertising, Entertainment, you name it. When everyone is excited about Bitcoin, I am much more intrigued by the concept behind it. Ethereum smart contracts is so cool and gives us the hint of blockchain's potential.
3) Virtual Reality:
Remember the times when conversation had to be face-to-face? Yes, that was a long time back. Nowadays, social media, chatting apps, e-mails rule our life. Some people compain about it but others see the goodness of it. Ten years from now, Virtual Reality won't be an alien concept and we will be visting Switzerland sitting in some VR pod. Our kids will be passing driving test on a simulator. But will they need a license at all?
4) Self Driving Cars:
When I was a kid, I use to think that there will be flying cars in 2010. Sadly that didn't happen and maybe that's how kids think. But Self-Driving cars are making an entry. Brands like Tesla and Volvo have already showcased their potential by giving semi-self-driving experience. Apart from electric cars, All major car manufacturers are also working on Self-Driving technology. In 3-5 years we should see tremendous growth in this space. And maybe blockchain technology can help here too by interconnecting all the vehicles on the road so they can talk to each other. And Artificial technology might also come in to make cars more intelligent. Wow! my mind is wandering now :)
5) 3D Printing:
This technology is disrupting the manufacturing sector today. Today, a 3D printed can print you a physical product just by reading a CAD (computer aided design) file from a computer. It can print in metal or plastic. Imagine breaking somee plastic part of your Porsche, but that part is not available here. You go to a website, order that part and the printing of that part starts on your 3D Printer at home. Or imagine our Intelligent car ordering that part, booking a service appointment and driving there itself. CRAZY! So excited about the future.
Comment below If I should watch out for any other technology :)
I would personally love to see virtual reality going a step forward. For example, virtual tours / virtual vacation to your dream destination but with a 7d touch or something like that. That will be cool!
Yes, that will be awesome. How about a bar where you are transported to an exotic location with your buddies and a beer mug :)

3D printing is huge according to me, it can do things which were never thought before,
International Space Station which orbits the eat has a 3D printer, so when a part breaks or needs replacement, they simply ask for it to be designed on earth and then the part is printed using 3D printer. This makes it very cost effective.
Previously, if a part broke down, then the part used to be sent from earth along with the supplies, which meant there was a waiting time involved.
