Auto-accidents Gradual Defeat
Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, an average of 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million people are injured or disabled. Road traffic crashes rank as the 9th leading cause of death and account for 2.2% of all deaths globally. Many new technologies are currently being introduced into the global auto-sector. Although we still don’t have the flying cars our generation was promised, and we don’t have self-driving vehicles either, several new technologies introduced in recent models are helping to reduce auto accidents around the world. They include:
Rear Cameras
They are most helpful on large vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, which have large blind-spots behind them. Although they can help a driver navigate into a parking spot better while driving backwards, their greatest assets is that they can reduce the number of pedestrian injures.Adaptive Headlights
With this technology, the headlights turn as you turn your steering wheel, helping you to see around a dark curve at nights having headlights rotate first before you get there has caused 10% drop in overall accidents, according to the insurance institute for highway safety.Forward Collision Systems (FCS)
A FCS uses radar to know the gap (the closeness of the vehicle in front of you) and automatically takes control of the car to reduce the severity of impact in cars that have FCS, accidents rate are down about 15%.
Although few have been mentioned in this article, many are currently being installed in new models and even more are being developed. Nevertheless, never forget the simple rule of safety, “ABC – Always Be Careful”.
