I didn’t publish anything until today bc I was engaging in my favorite, but cursed, hobby that we apparently share: writing and tech alchemy! This is a lot like what I’m getting up and running, but instead of webhooks I’ve (almost) got Ulysses callback URLs automatically synced with an Airtable database, where the markdown is automatically extracted into AT, and then I just hit push to publish via APIs.
I’m curious where you start drafting—I usually write a short riff in longhand and then type into Ulysses. Locally I use tags for version control, but integrating Airtable has helped immensely to give me a common sense overview of what I’ve got, versus a bunch of “sheets” that I manically generate. Having the versioning automated has been 👌I ask about your original drafting bc I even version-label my scribbles, w/ the first thought labeled. I can’t tell if I’m confounding the process or not...it seems to vary. But, yes: 💯 on version control as a coding convention that is so clarifying for prose composition.
If I understand the question, I now only use Draft. I used to write everything on pastebin but now only use that as a backup for my work.
