I think AI in warfare can potentially be a very bad thing for civilians. When we use machines to kill each other, the burden of responsibility becomes an abstract concept. It is psychologically easier to kill a group of people by pushing a button than it is to kill them while looking them in the eyes. Drone strikes are an example of this. The more abstract the killing becomes, the easier it is to do it.
