It has begun!
Alright. April is here and so is the promise of a new Ryzen 7 generation.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I wanna upgrade my old desktop CPU.
But come to think of it, since I atleast would need to upgrade mobo, cpu and RAM, why not just build a new machine entirely?
So that is what I plan on doing now.
The parts!
I already started ordering the parts I need. So I'm starting from the buttom.
This is now what I plan on buying:
- A new case (a red fancy one)
- 500W Power supply
- X470 motherboard (probably ASrock)
- Ryzen 7 2700
- 16 GB Dual Channel RAM (2966 MHz if mobo supports it)
And this is what I'm gonna take out of the old one and put into the new one:
- Asus GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB
- 120 GB SSD
- 2 TB HDD
- Bluray drive
So far!
I bought the case, it should arrive tomorrow. I also got the power supply.
The CPU is rumoured to be released on April 19th, which is next week.
Motherboards will probably release at the same time, so I will order those when I can.
I can't really order the RAM yet, because I want the best ones my motherboards supports, and I won't know what that is until they release.
