Finally Graphics card prices are starting to drop, so building a higher end Gaming PC is possible.
Just like last month in the March Build Post, I searched Newegg to find the best deals possible to build a budget orientated build for the best value possible. This month I want to change it up and considering that GPU prices have dramatically dropped, I want to do a no compromise gaming PC but still, find the best bargains possible for the build.
I also try to find parts on one site that also accept bitcoin as a payment option, so this month I decided to shop on Alza.co.uk which is a British based company that does accept bitcoin and will ship to Europe.
So lets jump straight into it.
CPU – AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X - £586.90 (28% off)
The Threadripper line up is one of the best all round CPU's currently available on the market that have proven themselves in both gaming and workload applications.
While the other Threadripper were all on offer, it was this one that has over 25% off the retail price. The 12 core, 24 thread beast is the mid range chip that boasts clock speeds of a standard 3.5Ghz that boosts up to 4.0Ghz, with 32Mb of L3 cache, and 180 watt TDP.
With the correct cooling solution, you can easily set the base clock at that 4.0Ghz mark and possibly even push it even further.
A killer CPU at a killer price.

Motherboard – MSI X399 SLI Plus - £214.90 (18% off)
Although there are not many TR4 socket motherboards to choose from, there are some that have a good discount, and any X399 motherboard is going to be loaded with features that you wont see on lesser boards.
Not only is this a good looking board, but it is also compatible with MSI's Mystic Light RGB software, so for those that like to make there setup unique, this is a fantastic deal.
The board features 6 PCIe slots, 4 of which are a full 16 lanes. It supports 4x crossfire and 4x SLI, full gigabit LAN networking. M.2 socket, more USB sockets than you can shake a stick at, including a type C. support for up to 256Gb of DDR4 4100Mhz, and a whole whack of other features, not to mention the extensive Bios for Auto or manual overclocking of everything from the CPU, Memory and onboard chip sets.
For this price, it is hard to argue with the product you are getting.

RAM – Kingston HyperX Predator 32Gb 3000Mhz - £373.90 (5% off)
Unfortunately, while GPU prices may be falling, RAM is still at an all time high, so finding any that are discounted is always a huge bonus.
Because this system is of such a high calibre, an absolute minimum of 32Gb in quad channel is the only way to go. So I ran across this set of 4 RAM modules that are stock clocked at 3000Mhz that can be easily pushed upwards of 3200 with ease. The 4 8Gb modules sport a sleek and very stealthy heat spreader, but there is no RGB incorporated into them. But with the right lighting inside a case, these should stand out regardless.
The only issue really with this memory is the timings could be a little tighter, but that can easily be solved with some tweaking inside the Bios.

Cooling – Enermax LiqTech TR4 240 - £142.07 (19% off)
Just as the motherboards, there are not a lot of cooling options available when it comes the the oversized TR4 socket. Thankfully though, Enermax has a line of TR4 specific cooling solutions and this one is a good mix of cooling ability and price.
Keeping the massive Threadripper chip cool is a very reasonable 240mm radiator fitter with 2 120mm Enermax high airflow, anti static fans that are nice and quiet at only 28db at full load.
The cooling plate is pure copper for maximum heat transfer, and on top of that is the water reservoir and pump that feeds the radiator via there patented polyamide-rubber hoses that have zero permeability.
As an added bonus, the system has a max TDP of 500W, so when you consider that the 1950X has a 180W TDP, there is a lot of headroom available there for overclocking. Even more if fitted into the right case.

GPU – MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Armour 8Gb OC Edition - £656.90 (15% off)
it wasn't that long ago that GTX 1080 cards of any brand were selling on the used market for over £1000. now due to both Bitcoin and Ethereum crashing, they are all starting to drop in price, which is a good thing for gamers as the used market is now being flooded with them and retailers are starting to do anything they can to sell there stock.
The GTX 1080, even though the design is now a couple of years old, it is quite possible the best GPU you can buy next to the Ti version. With 8Gb of GDDR5 that has a total clock speed of 10Ghz, combined with a core clock of 1.8Ghz, it is a card that has great out of the box performance, but also has the head room available if you want to squeeze even more performance out of it.
A stunning card, that compliments the motherboard well at an even better price.

PSU – Seasonic Prime Ultra 1000 Gold - £171.90 (21% off)
A high end PC needs some serious power behind it and there is no shortage or price problems when it comes the the PSU side of the PC building equation.
The Seasonic Prime Ultra is a top of the line power supply that is capable of delivering 1000 watts at full load. But the system will draw maybe 600 at full load, so if in the future you wanted to add a second GPU or more HDD's, there is enough leftover in the PSU to power even the most demanding systems.
It is fully modular that includes all the cables you will ever need. It is rated at 80 Gold with an 90% efficiency. It includes a 135mm fan that is silent and only turns on when the system is under load. A dual rail design with more connectors than you will ever need, but are there if you want to add/upgrade in the future.

Storage – WD Blue 3D Nand SSD 1Tb M.2 - £224.90 (25% off)
Just like RAM prices, SSD / Nand type storage is becoming expensive because of the general Nand Flash shortage everywhere. But regardless, there is a slowly building stockpile building that retailers are trying to sell, and with that comes some great deals.
This SSD type storage will interface nicely with the M.2 slot on the motherboard, with a 1Tb storage capacity, it is more than enough to house the operating system and all the games you could possibly want to install, while reaming fast enough that it will be unnoticeable. However, if you were thinking of doing some very aggressive workloads and need something faster that could be used as a scratch disk, you will be slightly disappointed as the read and write speeds of this at 1 fifth that of a full M.2 storage drive. But at 25% off retail. It is a bargain that should not be passed up.

Case – Fractal Design Meshify C Dark TG - £78.90 (6% off)
Cases are a very personal thing, but the key ingredients anyone should be looking for when choosing a case is compatibility with your chosen hardware, proper cable management solutions including grommets, front I/O options and above all else airflow.
Fractal design have a great reputation for not only producing cases that look good, but have very good airflow too and the Meshify is a fantastic example of this. It is fully capable of supporting the 240mm cooling solution we chose that can be mounted on either the face or on the top of the case. It has a full PSU shroud that hides away any unsightly cables. Full dust filters on all the intakes that are easily removable for cleaning. It has a tempered glass side panel so you can show of that sexy system with some awesome RGB lighting inside. It has great cable management solutions to keep everything looking neat and tidy, and as a whole, I think it looks very modern, discreet and minimalistic that would go nicely in anyone's setup. There is also room for expanding on storage as it does support 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives on the back of the motherboard tray and under the shroud.
An all round great looking case that will not break the bank.

Total.
For a no compromise gaming setup, you would expect to spend a fair bit of money, but with a combination of all the savings, we saved over £500 that reduced the total to just over £2'530.
There are many more deals to be had on this site as well as others thanks to falling GPU prices. Retailers are now trying there best to keep the pace up in sales now the used market is being flooded, and they will do anything to get customers buying from them, that includes some awesome deals that no one would refuse.
Happy shopping, and let us know if you have built or planning a new build this April.
Thanks for reading.

We live in times where, for example, the graphics card itself can cost as much as a good flagship phone. In 1997, the first stationary computers were quite expensive and now we have similar situations. Some computers or smartphones will remain only for the chosen ones.
Just wondering, does anyone here know what I should get to build a secondary computer for live streaming on YouTube and Twitch? As well as how much I should set aside as a budget :) Thank you in advance :)
a basic Ryzen 2200G system with a capture card will be your best bet. about $300 for the main system and $150 for a decent capture card.
but if you are already rocking a Ryzen 5 or 7 PC, then you can game and stream of the same system.
Thank you so much this has been really helpful :)
