  •  Not Good For My Child

  “Technology” means technical advancement.

In other words it means industrialism.

The modern era is an era of technology.  It has given birth to an entirely new type of culture and civilization.  The whole World has become modernize.  All the changes in the world came in with the advancement in machines and education.

Technology has brought about changes in all spheres of life.

Previously man was thought to be a weak creature but now he is all powerful . He has mastered the forces of nature and has landed on the moon.

Bad Impacts Of Technology

But while accepting all the advancements of technologies, we should not deny the dark side of these technologies. We should accept not only the advantages of technology but also accept the disadvantages of it.

Modern technology is badly affecting the life of new generation especially children. On one side it is facilitating the new generation but on the other side it is also destroying the lives of children in many ways. Some of the negative impacts of technology are described as under..

  • Entertainment

If we are facilitating the child by using smart phone and tablet etc during class lectures here we are promoting the idea of entertainment as well. Many children are using these facilities just for entertainment.

  • Thinking Ability

Using technology can change a child’s brain and affects the thinking power of the child.      The use of technology can alter the actual writing of the brain. More than a third of children under the age of two use mobile media.

  • The time spent with technology doesn’t just give kids newfangled ways of doing things

It changes the way their brains work. For example, the article says that while video games may condition the brain to pay attention to multiple stimuli, they can lead to distraction and decreased memory. Children who always use search engines may become very good at finding information—but not very good at remembering it. In addition, the children who use too much technology may not have enough opportunities to use their imagination or to read and think deeply about the material.

  • Using technology can affect a child’s ability to empathize.

A study on two groups of sixth graders found that kids who had no access to electronic devices for five days were better at picking up on emotions and nonverbal cues of photos of faces than the group that used their devices during that time.

  •  Overuse of technology can also affect a child’s own mood.

A report from the United Kingdom revealed that kids who use computer games and their home Internet for more than four hours do not have the same sense of well being as those who used that technology for less than hour.

  • Improper use of technology can expose a child to numerous risks.

Children who use technology may unconsciously share information that can put them in danger. Children are not mature enough to get idea about the people on networks.

  •  Lack of physical activity

When the child’s use of technology increases, then his physical activities decrease which is not good for the child’s health. It may cause of many problems of the child relating to his health.

  • Suggestions

We’re certainly not advocating cutting out all technology, but, as with most things, moderation is best.

  1. Teachers and parents who want their students and children to experience the benefits of technology—without the negatives—should consider these ideas.
  2. Monitor the use of technology. Whether you’re a parent, teacher or both, make sure you know how your kids are using technology.
  3. Many classroom computers have restrictions on which sites can be used. Likewise parents should also impose restrictions on the mobile phones that are used at homes.
  4. Teach responsible usage. We don’t suggest ignoring what technology can offer.
  5.  Talk with students about the positive uses of technology again and again.
  6. Encourage students to discuss tricky situations they may encounter online and help them work to a positive resolution.
  7.  As a parent or teacher its our duty to keep an eye on all the activities of the child whether the child is wasting time in the use of technologies or not.
  8.  Offer alternatives to technology.
  9. Give students an  many assignment that requires reading a hard copy of a material. Task them with interviewing each other—in person—instead of texting questions.
  10. Conduct class outside where you can sit and discuss a topic without the usual distractions
  • Conclusion

Technology makes our lives easier but we should always make positive use of it.

Today’s students have tremendous opportunities to learn and to connect by using it. But it is also an admitted fact that technology has also destroyed the lives of children in many senses.

We can overcome all these problems if we are willing… With each advantage comes a potential cost. When we understand those cost, we can keep the use of technology positive.

We, as a parent and teacher, can save the child, can save the Nation, can save the generation…
