RE: Airlines Opting For Flying Cars In The Future?

in #technology4 months ago

I have no interest in flying commercially after once having done so in the post-9/11 environment.

However, I still want to fly. I live in a village with it's own airport, and chartering private flights is a viable option - if I could foot the bill, which is rather more than tickets for commercial flights. However, upscaling quadcopters is considerably simpler and less expensive than traditional fixed wing aircraft. I have seen personal craft individuals have themselves made, and as development proceeds, such craft continue to decrease in cost and increase in safety and amenity.

I am aware of the suppression of such technology, that is incorporating limitations on where such craft can travel in the commercially available drones, and surely will more do so with craft that people can ride. However, it is already possible to make these ourselves, and at a fraction of the cost of purchasing them. I am surprised, in fact, that more of these quadcopter personal conveyances aren't being built, because the ones I've seen cost less than new cars to make.

Thanks!
