I’m old enough to remember the 60’s and the Vietnam war protests and the daily dead count numbers broadcast by Walter Cronkite. The black and white picture blunted the impact of red blood on the screen and broadcasters still didn’t fully understand the impact that their technology could have on the mental state of millions of people.

In many ways I miss those days because their lack of sophistication in what they were doing broadcast their honesty. Today, virtually every piece of news is micromanaged and sanitized to deliver a propagandized effect and then carbon copied with slight variations across the main networks. In those early days, there were 3 channels and they only copied the main story of the day if that story was big enough. Otherwise you’d see three different perspectives on how the day went.
When I started traveling across the USA after my software business took off, I realized that what’s being reported and what’s really going on are very different things. What you hear about now is what authority wants you to think, not what is.
(My rig circa March 2009)
Fear is a product that intends to turn you into a package so that you can be sold in centralized corporate structures. That’s because it’s one of the most useful tools to create predictable boundaries. Most of you willingly package yourselves through mistaken beliefs. Then if you’re a Facebook user, your posts about yourself become the product being sold to corporate data scrapers.
(Slab City, CA March 2009)
Just today I heard that someone from Mexico needed emergency gall bladder surgery and crossed into the USA because “Mexico is so dangerous”. Having spoken to many Mexican illegals down in Slab City, CA, I can tell you a different story. Northern Mexico lacks services, but they say it’s more dangerous living in the USA. They said that there’s an unspoken rule in Mexico with the drug gangs: “hands off the Americans because it’s bad for business”. In other words they want us to go down there because our dollars fund them. So which is the truth?
This war is one for our mind. The chains that used to be around our ankles, have been replaced with digital surveillance. Authority is busy building a digital panopticon to control behavior.
They give you the vote in order to distract you away from focusing on your true power and divide you through a series of meaningless choices. Chocolate or Vanilla? Regular or Diet? Hillary or Trump? None of these choices will create meaningful change. Many people are starting to realize this but their reaction is to start protests…
(Google Images - Wikimedia Commons)
While I have sympathy for this reaction, this is no longer the 1960’s and unnecessarily creates danger. Authority is well aware and knows how to handle this; they are getting ready to snuff out dissent at the bank. Go to the wrong protest or express an opinion we don’t like? We can turn you off in the system.
The solution is to focus on your real power. That is not your vote any more, but your wallet and your bank accounts. When you put your money into various cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin you reroute power outside of the system into a borderless, censorship resistant and decentralized platform where it can no longer be used by central authority. It’s crucial that you understand the difference between the centralized technical panopticon that they’re trying to create (FedCoin) and Bitcoin. The key difference is between centralization and decentralization.
You need to ask one crucial question. Is there anyone in control of the technology? If the answer is yes, then you’re in for trouble. It can only be trusted when the answer is no.

Congratulations! In addition to the vote from @randowhale, you also received a vote from @randowhaletrail!
They'll have to pry my private keys out of my cold, dead fingers.
Couldn't agree with you more on all points and it's rare for the @rawdawg to agree with someone on everything they say. Your perspective is interesting as your age gives you a much wider viewpoint on the changing landscape over the years. I'm 38 years young and in my time I have to say, things have started to get oftly strange. Was watching some Johnny Carson re-runs the other day and it shed light on how much we are changing for the worse. Here's Johnny! 😀😀
I was born just a few hours after Obama in 1961.
😀
I think it will be interesting to watch governments of the world scramble to put the Crypto Genie back in the bottle.
I suspect it wil be all out war but like the other made up wars they wont be able to win.
They would have to commit suicide (the internet kill switch) or EMP which is likely not to be 100% effective. Of course that would mean no more Swift Network for the banks so back to pencil and paper accounting for them. Obviously they won't do this willingly.
What will happen is that for a time, hope that scaling can catch up in bitcoin and other cryptos so they can handle the load of Visa / MC. Lightning network is one hope. Until then, if people can just gradually spread out their investments into alts, that would ease the strain.
The alts are looking like the search engine wars with bitcoin emerging as the Yahoo! of finance. The Google of finance isn't here yet.
Maybe the google of crypto is here, it just isnt doing much yet?
It might be bitcoin if lightning network can solve the scaling problems.
I agree 100%, The USA is has become a huge corporate machine. If you live here you belong to them, and we are the only one that can stand up and change that. Good info in this post, thanks for the good read and keep up the good work.
Thus the corporate NAME. Your name to corporate title, NAME. your name in all caps is a title. Its not you. Name on utility bills is not you. Its all caps. Its a title owned by THE UNITES STATES OF AMERICA INC.
You are indeed 100% Correct, We the people are the only one that can change anything, just need to grow some and make a stand...lol
Dont risk your SBD by sending to minnowpond @zoidsoft
Thanks for the link. I've experienced this on a couple of occasions, but not too worried about it. Not sure where the technical glitch is.
zoidsoft@ @minnowpond it skip posts when it receive multiple resteeming requests and the bot is alway busy in commenting on steemit.
Spot on...
And the digital panopticon concept is both scary and very interesting...
There's considerable hope though. Centralization is fatally flawed because it creates giant honey pots to be hacked. It's impossible to keep that data secure as Equifax and others have proven. Andreas Antonopoulos has an excellent video that explains why...
Of course I expect authority to make excuses as to why we should go from 2FA to 3FA, etc until the average person understands that the key is decentralizaton by distributing risk back to the source. It's considerably more difficult for a hacker to generate profit if they have to hack into 143 million devices (Trezor wallets can hold PII) than it is for a hacker to hack into one central database. Once that secret is out and understood by the public, it's game over.
