World known oil companies have to be socially responsible. That’s why we have drawn your attention to the fact that these companies are engaged in RES development.
BP (British Petroleum) and Shell do even more. For example, scientists of the multinational oil and gas company BP have found a solution for plastic trays and PET bottles which are usually subjected to incineration. The technology will allow to recycle plastic that was previously considered disposable.
While Shell has announced a unique solution for hard-to-process plastic used in the production of take-away food containers and washing-up bottles.
In addition, the company has announced a new goal of using 1 million tons of plastic waste per year in petrochemical plants around the world over the next 5 years. This amount is about 6–7% of all the raw materials used by Shell.
It is important that not only these giants have offered breakthrough. This year, more than twenty companies, including ExxonMobil and Procter & Gamble has formed a coalition trying to find effective ways to recycle the increasing amounts of plastic pollution.
Oil companies understand that currently technological solutions must change, and social responsibility becomes paramount.
