How to clean the CPU fan
Not cleaning your CPU fan can cause it to run slower or stop working altogether. If the fan fails then the temperature inside the CPU will significantly increase which can cause overheating. The simplest way to clean a CPU fan is by using compressed air
Turn off your computer and disconnect the feeder Remove the cables from the back and disconnect them from the power source
Place the computer on an antistatic mat that sits on top of a table. You may also want to use an antistatic wrist strap that is connected to an electronic ground such as a metal plumbing fixture. You need to use these devices because an electrical discharge from the floor or floor can damage the information stored on your computer.
Open the back of your computer cabinet according to the instructions in the manual Some CPUs need screwdrivers to open them while others have buttons that when pressed open the cabinet.
Place the can of compressed air two inches from the surface you are going to clean
Clean the fan and the exhaust using compressed air puffs The intakes in the grid-like structure filter the air entering the fan.
Spray puffs of compressed air on the fan blades To loosen the accumulations of dirt hold the compressed air from different angles instead of spraying large bursts of air Make sure you do not touch anything inside the CPU.
Put aside the can of compressed air and close the cabinet of your computer.
Clean the outside of your CPU with a damp cloth that has been immersed in warm soapy water. Dry the surface with a soft towel.
Use a damp cloth to clean the power cords while they are connected from the power source. Dry the cables with a soft towel.
Reconnect the cables to their original places and turn on your computer.
Tips
Minimize dust in the air by cleaning your room more often. You can also cover your computer to keep it from getting dusty.
While you are cleaning the fan clean the motherboard and other areas that need it by spraying small bursts of compressed air
Warnings
If your CPU's fan does not work then you should have the computer turned on for only a few minutes at a time to avoid overheating and damaging the stored information.
Things you will need
Can of compressed air
Anti-static carpet or bracelet
The owner's manual of your CPU
