Telos is an EOS SISTER chain, Independently run on EOSIO and it is NOT a Fork or Side Chain. Telos has a much more even distribution similar to what PAL did with steem, with Telos limiting all EOS Genesis accounts to a max of 40,000 TELOS. However the fact that Telos distributed using EOS genesis accounts is not relevant to how independent Telos is to EOS and it is the EOSIO framework that Telos is under and separate from the EOS token. The Resource Exchange on EOS where you can make passive income has been improved from EOS, and you can now make up to 25% APR on your Telos tokens you can deposit and loan to REX in an interface on SQRL that is much less confusing that eos and greymass. Telos also has a funded worker proposal system where you must put 3% down of what you request to make a proposal but where a lot of smaller proposals actually get funded unlike many other Proposal Systems. Its governance is just so advanced that it can be better explained by trying out one of the Telos Desktop Wallets, like SQRL wallet and checking out all the options for yourself https://SQRLWallet.io . It is as if there are various levels to play or build in for for all types of people in telos, and whether you want to just make some transactions and stake to rex for passive income, or write up proposals, or look over the arbitration or even amend the telos constitution or create a new protocol to help ratify, there is always something next level to participate in. The end game is a blockchain governance system that all sorts of large organizations end up using. I am but just one Telos user, who decided to create the @telosfoundation account on steem, and you can all expect some more professional post about Telos Foundation as I move to @ackzaontelos
Thanks to @sxms for the great post explaining Telos Inverse Vote Weighting invention where the more you vote for BPs the more weight your vote carries. Imagine if Steem Witness voting worked this way, and the more you voted for witnesses the stronger the vote got encouraging you to vote with all your votes.

If we applied this inverse vote weighting to blog chain social media voting for steem, we would get some incredible results where the more someone voted the more their vote would be worth.
I also recommend Steem has its own Economic Development Plan or TEDP similar to telos which has enacted 0% inflation nd now has a Telos REX APR of 25% so you can make passive income with Telos right now much easier than steem or eos.

We also have plans to add Telos to Steem-Engine and we are in line behind @golos-classic so stay tuned as DPOS world is about to get interesting. telos governance and Steem Social media will create a very powerful new TELOS social media Blockchain with applications all over the academic, scientific and political worlds.

Read the Telos White Paper here to get a better idea for what telos is all about and how it seeks to correct many of the perceived mistakes of EOS, similar to PAL and steem. TELOS also cut down whale accounts to 40,000 EOS like PAL did to steem accounts.
