I think it's because people are buying coins in ico for pure speculation, not because they really consider those coins good long term investments. 200% profit in a few days was possible some time ago, but now there are way to many ICOs. This is why you should invest only in coins having long term potential. Just check the quantity of coins released during the ico and if it's too big, wait for a few weeks, you might get the coins for lower price than the ico price:

Yup that's very true. People are just participating ICOs just to make profit and not looking at coin itself. So I am also questioning if we can even call ICO participants as investors anymore. Thanks for your opinion! following you now
Fully agree. There are only two situations where an ICO is worth buying: 1) You get an incredible discount on the coins through the ICO or 2) there are almost no coins offered (or select ICO-only coins) that people will hold onto religiously. Otherwise you are better off waiting for them to come down after the full supply has hit the market. There are just too many offerings now and supply swamps demand
