Now the third car to burst into flames....Elon Musk should face very stiff regulation going forward. This car is not ready for the road and Tesla is not ready for the big time. You can’t kill three people, have several wrecks and hang up on board members and bankers when your asked the hard questions. Musk is doing a lot of things right now but in my opinion he’s not doing anything outstanding or at the forefront of any industry. He’s got a lot of money to keep trying but, it looks to me that more of his money needs to be spent on reaserch and development than just providing the market with the end product. Right now.....I would not drive a Tesla at all with what has happened in such a short period. Being trapped in a burning car unable to escape might be one of the worst ways in the world to die.
It is very sad to see people losing their lives over something like this. I agree there needs to be better regulation and stiffer consequences for what’s happpening. I think musk means well but you’re correct, he’s going a little too much too fast
How are you going to prosecute the AI that runs the car? Or are you going to sue the developers behind it? Then no one will ever want to work on it.
Musk reminds me of Steve Jobs first time around with Apple.
-Burns cash to the point they will need to get more private investors cash by end of the year (having burned through 1 billion through Q1...with only 2.91 billion in cash left in reserve...it wont last. Hence stockholders will lose value....yet again)

-Tesla vehicles though very aesthetic ,have had quite a few issues with just owning one (Limited ways to get one repaired,limited amount of chargers...numerous issues which is expected with a small car company. But not for that price) I thought the idea was to get an electric car out to the masses....not make it a celebrity item.
Get a preowned BMW i3 or Chevy Volt for less than 20k. You wont find a Tesla under 30k.
-Space X i believe might save Musk in the end if he gets those juicy government contracts.
-Solar City looks like a looming failure because anyone owning a home will tell you....they aren't not spending 40-65k for a solar roof (besides the issues solar roofs have in bad weather)

What really is stunning that a company like Tesla can burn so much money without even making a profit. A 'normal' commercial business wouldn't last for a week. Isn't that strange..? It's all about the money Elon is pumping into it without giving back to it's investors... Strange business model... And the fact is, cause he is taking such a long time to deliver proper reliable cars, he is caught up by other carbrands who (in my opinion) eventually will win the electric car battle cause they deliver in time with more reliable and safer cars...
Tesla, for me, is a toy which spends to much money....

Early adoption in certain technologies can be dangerous i.e. medical devices, automobiles, airplanes... although you're right its not early anymore for Tesla!

I am guilty I was seriously considering a Tesla. I like the idea of a car that can be charged. Its sad about the deaths so far but can you really blame the technology. Dodge or Town and Country with its sensor problems have probably caused more accidents. Every car maker has had many recalls and the American Car makers more than others. I do not see Tesla any different in that direction. Some regular cars with computer systems have been hacked without the information getting to main stream media.

Honestly, I would say Tesla only appeals to the Elon fanatics who would stop at absolutely nothing to get a Tesla car. The recent announcement of a restructuring is a good news to essentially cut the fat from the meat and bones. Tesla might have to raise more capital in the next 1 or 2 years if it doesn't manage its cash flow correctly. I would say it's an extremely tricky situation and pumping money into R&D will not solve all problems. If there's no end product, then there's no revenue. Likewise, if car safety problem is not rectified, then pretty much nobody is going to buy the car. Coupled with talents leaving the organization, Elon has a lot going on.
It's very sad, I think Tesla Company always produces a very good car, and has a very good performance, maybe Tesla Industry must make some changes to overcome all this mess. Thanks for sharing @broncnutz...
The battery technology that Tesla achieved - combined with putting it into a car that not only looks really cool, but is practical and functional for a family, is an achievement in itself. Its the total package, not just the technology, that created the success. As you said, nothing lasts forever, maybe thats why he into Space? Its at least a long - term project. it's really awesome news dear.
Musk is doing everyone and everything wrong. How can you trust someone who lies to the world saying he sends rocket ships and magic cars up high enough to float around a make believe fairy tale globe Earth. Yet people eat it up like it's science. Doesn't get much worse of a person than that.
A friend of ours is fascinated by Elon Musk and like you said, he is very innovative, but he has his hands in too many projects. Don't half ass many things, whole ass one thing!
What he is doing with Space X is amazing, but his energy should be spent on how he can better the world with innovative technologies. The Boring Company will help the first world and developing countries with the inconvenience of traffic jams, but making a product or service that can be used for everyone is what he should be doing.
I can't believe people pay tens of thousands of dollars for cars that are essentially in Beta testing. Not smart!
I think everyone who buys Tesla should be aware that lithium-ion batteries are way more flammable than gasoline.
I read the biography of Elon by Ashlee Vance, and as the book says, there was some party, with Elon and his investors or workers i cant really remember, few years back when they developed prototype, when they decided to burn the car intentionally just to see what will happen. And they were stunned how that thing burns, and since it was just a prototype it had significantly less batteries inside. So they spent a lot of time and money developing system in which fire wont be able to spread from one battery cell to another. But obviously it is still a major issue.
Great video got me thinking about how true that might be about Tesla. I think that the media is overheating the situation with Tesla burning cars. According to this article "About 17 cars catch fire every hour in the United States.", that makes 150,000 per year only in the States. If 3 Teslas caught on fire this past 7 weeks, that still means them safer then regular cars. I am not protecting Tesla, I am just sharing this article because you have got me thinking about statistics.
So that makes them 5 times safer then other cars.
It is like the fact that airplane statistically is the safest way to travel. Nevertheless, it is very scary when they show planes falling and many people dying. Car crashes are not as scary but they happen much more often and much more people die per year.

I agree with you @Broncnutz invotion is needed but we can't be putting people's life at stake with faulty vehicles because some automobile manufacturers arrogance to fix an issue. I personally wouldn't care to get a Tesla or any electric vehicle because I personally enjoy working on my own vehicles. Great post cuz, keep it up!

YES thank you!! There is really not enough people talking about Musk/Tesla's true side. All we ever hear is how great he is.... I was always put off when I first heard about/saw Tesla (the corp, not the man) and their expensive cars. As I already knew who Tesla (the great man that was ahead of his time) was and the whole fact that his number one goal was to provide free energy to all of humanity. Now Musk turns around and puts a hefty price tag on something that is basically still burning fossil fuels (nowhere near free energy level). It's a disgrace to the true Tesla name, as I'm sure he would want nothing to do with this company yet they use the name for profit....E-villain

In case you didn't hear, he actually put his own Tesla as the nose point of the first rocket ship they flew to outer space. You know you have mad money when you get to do things like this.
It seriously baffles me, how a car manufacturer that hasn't even made 200,000 cars total in all of the years of it's existence can be worth more than Ford. This guy has some serious deep state backing and or black ops financing behind him because this company should've gone the way of the dodo bird before it even got going. Furthermore it's pretty insulting that Elon would name this company after the real Tesla but yet not incorporate any of his technology. Come on, a car with the name Tesla should be running on zero point energy and not some shitty 1950's defense department lithium ion battery technology...

Right now, it appears Tesla's autopilot is a death-trap.
The programs in the self driving car go by YES or NO. There is no MAYBE. So the car crashes into a wall because of a glitch while you were checking out the latest funny cat video your buddy sent you... Thats terrible, but in these moments of innatention you could have ran over a motorcycle...
I am not even using cruise control and I like to shift my own gears. To each its own.
