The Inventor of Hipsters

in #tesla8 years ago (edited)

I know that you may ask what does one of the most brilliant scientists of the past century, Nikola Tesla, has to do with hipsters. Well, I’ve wrote a series of post about Tesla’s 160th birthday exhibition at Nikola Tesla Museum. But this 5th part on this subject has a sad end. Namely, Nikola Tesla died alone and broke in a hotel room, despite of so many success stories and of his inventions. But I don’t want to end my story in that tone. So I decided to look at the brighter side. Here is how:

Teslas boots - a great article for a hipster’s auction.

Nicely designed WA meter - a patent of Tesla

Stylish Tesla’s cylinder hat - a gift from his hotel, the last home, hotel in New York.

Tesla was a gentleman - exhibition shows his bag and his gigantic pocket watch. He is a true exemplar for every contemporary gentleman.

"You notice him from a distance. He is taller than others. An incredibly elegant, noble gentleman, in a jacket and bowler hat, gloves and a thin walking stick. Gallant, smart, but not rigid. Standing straight, slender, without a trace of age."
, once said his nephew.

You can buy a super-fancy remote controlled toy for your kid today. But the boat shown on image is replica of Tesla’s first in the world remote operated boat. He was a 100 years ahead of us right now with his toy. He also refused to share a Nobel price for radio communication with Marconi.

He even patented what is now better known as “Sea Harrier” - vertical takeoff and landing principle for the airplanes. He dreamed of flying machines powered from the mastered nature.

This belonged to Tesla.

The town in which Tesla left us, New York. The world is grateful for all that he gave us. And that is - a pure love.

The tour ends here. Thanks for joining me on Nikola Tesla Museum tour.

This is a great remembrance of a man that is often not given the credit he deserves. In fact, we chose the middle name for our son on the way - Nikola - after the great inventor!

Haaa, Cool! All the best in life for our new smart little friend! And who knows, he maybe continues on Tesla's wonderful journey...

We can only hope!

Thanks for the article, really enjoyed it, especially looking at Tesla's personal items.

Aren't those desirable...
