Cheers Steeve!

Our goal is to filter out all automated votes and sort the posts according to their true trendiness as measured by the real user votes. Currently, we are filtering out just bidbots, but we are working on removing also voting trails and vote buying.

This looks like a big ask but well done for giving it a shot!

I was just Steeve testing story editing here, but the story got upvoted by bots, so I could not remove it. I guess that it would make more sense to add a comment to one of the articles under @steeveapp account ;-)

I don't see a problem with testing here and suffering a few light bot votes. It's not like this account is seeking rent via auto-votes from a long trial.

A global bot list would seemingly help Steeve, but working out paid votes and trails is much tougher. I suspect what Steeve is aiming for will be slightly easier with Oracles and SMT.

I just meant that I am the only one that is going to notice your comment under this particular story :-)

Anyway, it is true that it is not so simple. It is about statistics, right? You cannot tell 100% that an account is a bot, that something is a trail and what not. So this will require quite some tuning, but we will try to ship something ASAP and then continue with tuning forever ;-)

Ah right. I need a coffee :)

I guess an account can be both human and a bot, vote manually and with trails, delegate to MB and use some stake 'normally'.

I have this strange feeling that STEEM will be valued less than an a robust SMT in future. One that uses a 1-account-1-vote ID registration, with sound oracles. What I can't work out is how this 'transfer of wealth' will happen, and what it would mean....

More coffee to everyone! :-)

Yeah, accounts are often mixed, that is why it is just about probability. I think that @hr1 will eventually end up writing a separate post about the approach they have taken together with @mor to tackle the issue. Stay tuned ;-)

Considering SMT, I don't even have time to think about what that will bring actually, so I am trying to solve the current issues. Who knows, maybe we will have Steeve SMT as well...

Steeve Media Token, alright then :D

Cheers for the info, good luck!
