For those of you who live in Texas, the last few days have been extremely uncommon and will probably be the new normal, if not worse in the years to come.
Texas weather is typically hot, humid, and for the most part unpredictable. This past week definitely lived up to the unpredictable part. Throughout my 40+ years living in different cities throughout Texas, cold weather, snow, and ice is usually a quick passing occurrence lasting about 1-2 months with only a day or 2 of light snow or ice.
This year proved to be a completely different story that none of us Texans were prepared for. The first photo is the winter (if we are lucky) that we typically experience in Austin (the one or two days of light snow).
Below is what we got this week
Now for some people, this is nothing, but Texas nearly shut down over the past week and most people were either without power or water for days. Grocery stores were pandemic level empty and everything came to a standstill.
I love the snow, but like most people wasn't prepared and couldn't fully enjoy it seeing as though all I had were tennis shoes that didn't stand up well against the freezing cold snow. I wish I had skis or a snowboard because the snow was powder fresh and soft.
Anyways, thought I would share some photos and see if any other people from Texas were equally unprepared and/or enjoyed the last few days.
It's crazy snowfall at many parts of USA from what i read
Yep. Its been crazy everywhere!
