Each Time… (for all the lost and struggling souls in Sutherland Springs Texas)

Each Time…

Each time that we see it
wake up to crushing news
another mass shooting
we all lose
the death of more children
husbands and wives
effects the very essence
of all our lives

Each time that we cry
for all the deceased
it slowly chips away
at any inner peace
analyzing the statistics
renaming the dead
when what we really need
is a call to action instead

Each time that we wait
more people die
our moral obligation
just one big lie
expressing condolences
sending thoughts and prayers
means little to its victims
their grieving heirs

Each time that we choose
to look the other way
turn off the news
and go about our day
we demean the lost souls
that watch from afar
create unmet goals
move further from who we are

Each time we decide
to make more excuses
sit back and do nothing
...humanity loses.

We lived in Rockwall for a couple years. The people over there is so down-to-earth and honest. My heart and prayers is with every person in that small town, in the state and the whole country. You are being tested to the limit. God bless you all.
