Tezos is the only coin I am aware of that has self-amending software and on-chain governance. Tez holders vote on produced software changes eliminating the need for hard forks. This is a huge benefit as software needs to be constantly updated to work through bugs, implement future technology, etc.
Additional benefits include proof of stake rewards. If you have 10k tokens you can be a self "baker". If you have less coins or no desire to keep up with the hardware you can delegate your stake to a baker and share in the rewards. Just like pooled mining.
