I know, it's frozen food - how could it be good?
But let me just say, this brand gets the taste right. Yes, the green curry taste is perfect, fatty coconut milk and spicy green chillis make this taste so aroi.
This has tofu pieces, which is not how I ever ate it, but I like the idea of not getting all that animal fat and cholesterol. My only gripe is the vegetables. These are just NOT the veggies you'll get in Thai cuisine.
First of all, I really want crunchy little Thai eggplants in my green curry - always! The veggies they use are carrot, sweet potato, spinach, green beans, yellow squash. Now these are ok veggies, but not what I'm used to eating in this dish. So I close my eyes and imagine thai eggplants.
The only other concern is the spiciness. This is not spicy, and I get why - American consumers will not buy food as spicy as this dish is usually made. I usually see Green curry made spicy - not as bad as some like Kang Lliung but still very hot for a farang.
Let me know if you've tried this and like it (or not)
Very different from the original Thai cuisine of green curry. Next time you come to thailand take the Thai cookery course then you didn’t need to imagine when eating the frozen green curry again. 😊😅
Thanks krab. Next time I go to Thailand I hope to go up to Mae Hongson! http://แม่ฮ่องสอน.com :)
You will love it here, Pai is one of the destinations in Thailand that tourist would be visiting. if you come to the northern Thailand I recommend Khao Soi, this will be one of your favorite too.
And It’s not too spicy like red curry.
Yes that's delicious!!! One of my favorites! I've been to Pai, it's getting crowded 555. They have beautiful places to stay in surrounding hills, then come down to the city for great walking around and eating and taking pictures by mailboxes. I stayed at this place with cool Pai downtown map.
Then you might recognize my bookshop. 😄
I can't say for sure. Right there in Pai? I'll have to go back soon to see.
