Happy and warm rescue puppies anyone?

I think that even people that don't like dogs and would never consider having one as a pet can appreciate how cute and wonderful a puppy that is trying to snuggle with you is. Here are some photos of puppy rescues that we have experienced in recent months.

Like so many other pups this little guy was abandoned at a very young age at a temple. We don't know what happened to the mother but I suspect that just like so many other situations like this one that the pup was taken from the mother because it was cute. Then, when it starts to cry and poop all over the place the new "owners" quickly realized that a puppy is a lot more than just a cute thing to pet. It is a lot of work and they were not up to the challenge.

This happens all-too-frequently and while it is tragic, at least there are organizations like our own that are here to do as much as we can to help out. The little guys and girls that come along seem to always be ready for a cuddle and a scratch and we are always happy to oblige.

Often, puppies a dropped off in groups but of course without a mother. This can be very problematic because they don't really know how to do anything and while people will offer to adopt them, until they are a bit older we will normally refuse unless the adopter is willing to take all of the siblings as well. We might think that pups don't have high enough intelligence to understand that their brother or sister has been taken away but if you spend enough time around pups the way that we have you will quickly understand that yes, they do know and yes, they do get really sad about it.

For many dogs without homes in Thailand, their entire existence is suffering, and we would like to limit that as much as possible.

As always, if these pictures moved you in any way I would encourage you to donate your time or money to a local animal welfare organization that is near you. There are thousands of operations just like our own that are non-profit and operate entirely with donations and volunteers

I think it is criminal when people give up on their puppies when they grow out of caring for them. There is no excuse as 8-10 years is a commitment and sadly in Thailand many give up.

part of the education we are trying to get across to people here in a non-patronizing way is that the lives of animals can be quite long. Also we show before and after pictures of puppies so that the kids can see that cute little puppies grow up to look just like all the other dogs they see. It seems silly but a lot of people have this idea that the puppy isn't going to change in its look and size.

Awwww...schweeet little puppies 😌 donation yes, adoption no. I find myself can't handle anymore animals with the two little rascal at home 🤣

and that is fair enough. It is better for you to already know that than to try, fail, and then have to make the dog homeless again.
