I will introduce you to a historical travel destination in north-eastern of Thailand. You will get to see many rock formations, prehistoric cave paintings and carved Buddha statues on the rocks!
PhuPhrabat Historical Park is located in the national forest. The place is a reserved area of the Royal Forest Department. Historically, this area was covered by glaciers million years ago then, as the time passed by, the ice melted and shaped the rocks into various strange shapes.
The most outstanding stone tower in this park is Ho Nang U-Sa. As you can see, the shape of it reminds a lot of people of a mushroom. Personally, it looks somehow like a crocodile head.
Another interesting rock formation is Tham Phra ( Monk cave)
These overlapping rocks have an outstanding signature which is beautiful carved Buddha in a sitting position statues. Initially, there were two of them but one had been stolen. On the top of the wall there is a roll of standing position carved Buddha images presented the rock wall.

You can see 2-3 thousand year old paintings on the walls at this specifis area. The cave was named accordingly to the paintings. The Cow And Human Caves.
