There is much to be thankful for each and every day. It's your choice on how you perceive the evolution of your life.
I choose to change my attitude over any present circumstances. This may be the only thing you have control over. Change is the only constant one can expect.
In 2013, I was involved in a motorcycle wreck which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. (TBI) The accident was the pinnacle of a direct analogy on how my life was going at that time.
Divorced after 33 years of marriage, my 25 year old business was failing, I owed the IRS tons of cash and my son was incarcerated in a state prison. The disasters were almost comedic in volume as if they were pulled from a 'stand up' comedian's routine. Unfortunately, it was my reality.
I came out of rehab with difficulty in my thinking processes. The most mundane tasks which were done automatically before now took intense concentration. I was told that new neural pathways would take 12 to 18 months to grow.
I had to close my business and get a job. The firm where I worked closed their doors 6 months after I started working. I got another job!
Through this job, I was able to start paying debt off. I also met the love of my life due to the entire string of events!
I got married, paid off the IRS, got fired, got another great job 2 hours after I was fired! Got a newer car and almost have it paid off within a year!
I've been married for 2 1/2 years and we're still on the honeymoon! I am so thankful to God for the hardships and resultant blessings! It was so worth it!!!
