Here are my top 5 picks for New Comic Book day! (March 21st, 2018)
Check out my selection of books you need to add to your Wednesday purchases next week from your local comic store!
- Thanos #17
Honestly, the last issue was tight and I love me some Silver Surfer. Throw in Thanos, and his older end of time self , The Cosmic Ghost Rider and you've got yourself a party...well more like a royal rumble... but you get the idea.
**Thor #705
The Mighty Thor run, has been epic...and with a drastic, desperate battle against the seemingly unstoppable Mangog, Asgard has truly seen better days...not that there will be much of anything left after this battle. But throw in Jane Foster who, as the cover suggests, will fall in battle, every issue under this story arc has truly been satisfying. Pick this book and look out for the variant by Stanley "Art Germ"Lau.
** Batman #43
This has been an interesting run...continuing on from the last issue where Poison Ivy ups her game and holds the world hostage... how can Batman and his wife to be, Cat woman, win? We shall find out on March 21st, when the comic book drops!
** Batman & the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 pt5
From the art to the story, this has been every bit the fun ride the first crossover was. Add the highly addictive drug venom to some of the ninja turtles most fearsome foes and bam...a must read! How will Batman and the rest of the Ninja turtles cope against the drug that grants their already formidable enemies super strength?
** Avengers : No Surrender #685
This series was one I was weary about, but after reading the first few issues of this weekly event, I made it a point to pick it up every week. From Fantastic covers by Mark Brooks, great interior art and an awesome story featuring tons of the the Avengers crew, all make this next chapter a must have. This is a 14 part story and the action is ramping up as it approaches the end of the arc. I recommend you read this because it is just so fun to read. Plus who can say no to seeing the massive Avengers lineup take on two big groups of super villains as things get more desperate?
