Ageless, in her valour she stood
Painting the picture of a pure maiden
Lips like shape of the heart
Eyes brimming bright light in azure praxis
Guarded by a lofty bulk of ancestral lush
Darkish fair: Red like scarlet.white as snow
With ever buoyant boobs, ever radiating
Clutching her ancestral pot
Like her own lad.
Grand papa unveils:
"this is the African Queen
Black, beautiful and beloved
She saved Somalia and Soweto alike
Banishing Baal, and erecting God
Yet retaining her own chastity.
She was loved:yes she was loved
But behold came a bad day
And she lay on a slaughtering slab
Just for us,oh Africa!
For Africa she spilled her precious blood
For our continent:
Oh! Our own dear continent.
"I say, behold came a very ominous day
When we all awaken by the baa
The hay of the harbingerous hoot
Of the black birds : death heralder
Lo! Behold :our queen was gone
Queen of Africa gone?
"Not even one nation
But Africa : Round and about.
"Death! Where is your sting?
Where lies your power?
The sound of our staccato sulk
A seizure replete
"Death, you are the devil!
Why must you embrace our queen?
The queen of Africa
A messiah sent from up to Africa
" But death, you are a thief!
You have stolen our brass, diamond and now gold
But real gold never rusted
So we shall plant her here
Like the okokurugba tree
Our lads mush behold her
They too shall revere her
Her epitaph shall remain here
Thought dead, yet alive.
"African queen! Mother of all
1780 begun, moulded in 1780
Two hundred year,here -in-after
A gold is still a gold my dear
Once a queen, always a queen
You are ever loved
Oh, African Queen of green memories "
Grand papa concluded in tears.
