First, I want to thank the steemit community for welcoming me in such a warm and encouraging way. I am still very new to all of this and have so much to learn, but the more I learn the more excited I am for all the possibilities.

I first heard about #thealliance through @katrina-ariel who spoke very highly of this group in her posts. It is very clear that #thealliance is a community of people who want to grow together as a family and support and encourage each other through all the ups and downs of life here on steemit.

Having been here for only a week now I have honestly felt a little lost, searching for a group, a family that I can connect with on a real, personal level. I have struggled to find a true sense of direction and belonging in a vast sea of steemians, many of whom seem to have already found their place in the steemit world.

Being a part of a community like #thealliance would mean a lot to me because I believe it would encourage me to dive head first into this platform and give me the opportunity to meet new interesting people and mentors. Family is very important to me and I feel most valuable and empowered when I am part of a supportive group of people who are all pushing each other to grow and investing in one another. I work best in a team and I love cheering my teammates on. I believe #thealliance is a place where I can flourish and that will bring out the best in me.

Aside from all the benefits of joining #thealliance , if I were accepted, I believe I have a lot of value to offer this family. In my 33 years of life I have been through a lot and learned a lot in the process. I have engaged in significant introspection and emotional processing which has given me valuable insights that I would love to share with others. Most of all I have a huge heart. My capacity for love and acceptance runs deep and nothing brings me more joy than helping others succeed. I am empathetic to the core which allows me to understand and relate to people in a very genuine way.

Things to note:

I love to travel and have been to over 10 different countries and counting

I was a swim coach for many years and have learned so much through that experience

I came out as a lesbian in October of 2015 and lost the support of many friends and family

I love to laugh

I dabble in poetry and song writing

Nature is my happy place and I can never get enough of the beauty this world has to offer

I believe in love and inclusion. I believe in people and the power of community with a purpose. I long to be a part of something bigger than myself and to reach out and touch as many lives as possible. If I am accepted into this family I would be more than grateful and would make the most of the opportunity.

Oh, yay! What a lovely application. And some beautiful photos as well! The colour of the water with the ice, the rainbow in the last... Nature is my happy place, too.

And I'm also highly sensitive. Empathy is a blessing, but sometimes it can make the world so, so intense! Nature helps. Family helps. It's vital to find friends who accept you exactly as you are, and encourage you. I look forward to more of your posts, and am so glad you chose to see what #thealliance is about!

Thank you! I totally agree! I like how you put it that being empathetic makes the world so intense. That’s so accurate. When your emotions run deep and you can feel the joy and pain of others in such a real way, every experience is intensified that much more. Sounds like I’ve found a kindred spirit in you 😊

Yes, indeed you have. :)

I long to be a part of something bigger than myself and to reach out and touch as many lives as possible.

For most people that's scary to admit, but human nature. Excellent app. Thank you.

Thanks! It is hard to admit that we need people to thrive but I strongly believe in the power of unity and togetherness. Even the most self-sufficient person who tends to go it alone needs community. It is a basic human necessity and we would all do well to put away our pride and admit that we need each other.

I love this lines " I believe in love and inclusion. I believe in people and the power of community with a purpose." nice application Thank You. ;-)

Thank you! Appreciate the support 😊
