Sorry to hear that may I ask where in Croatia you are I did see quite a bit of the country while there
College takes a lot of time
I'm from Zagreb, and yes some colleges last up to 5 years and more. Mine also 3 years is the first "basic" degree and then you need to do 2 more years for masters degree.
OK Zagreb I visited many a time, I am not a big fan of the bigger cities in any country much prefer smaller rural towns myself
